does it have to be a flash disk? for the same amount of money (R1000.00 if you were gonna buy 2 of those), you can get an 250gig external hard drive.

what are some other SA online computer stuff stores???

cos i'm looking at one from hifi corp but i kinda feel weird about buying a computer there i dunno why

true but the ehd won't fit in my shirt pocket. I could probably force it in my pant pocket but then everyone will think I'm glad to see them

hi guys. that's quite cheap and it looks like exactly what i need. can anybody tell me if it's shit or something because i'm not that good with these things. i was planning on getting an external harddrive or whatever anyway. but it has more ram than any of the others in this price range.

it's just for when i go back to england, basically for internet and music really.

it looks OK, but a 40GB hard drive is fucking tiny, especially if you want to use it for internet and music (I've filled up my 100GB disk about 3 times in the last year).

also, i would never buy anything with less than 1GB RAM, but i suppose you won't really need more than 512MB.

it seems like a really good deal.

i know the ram and hard drive are concerns but really, for the money i have it's the best i can do. all the others at this price had 256mb ram anyways.

i just need to know if theres something like shit about it that a retard such as myself wouldn't be able to see?

cos basically it looks like what i'm looking for and can afford.

well, the VIA Unichrome is probably a crap graphics card (don't know anything about it but I generally don't much like VIA), but a really decent graphics card would cost a lot more and you're unlikely to need anything better anyway so it should be fine.

Perhaps you should just check the price again tomorrow tho, i see the machine is "on promotion (valid from 20/01/2007 to 29/01/2007)", so after today it's probably going to be a bit more than R4999

If you are still about to buy try http://www.xperien.com/ phone them. They sell second hand laptoips at very good prices. Didn't check any of your specs or the sites you listed as i came in quite late here.

If you go to HiFi Corp you can ask them all these technical questions about whether the product has certain features and they always say "Yes! Yes it does."

Then you point out to them that it doesn't.
