No more Telkom?

I don't care if the Wii is both fun and stimulating, I hope you die by being crucified upside down and set alight.

No more Telkom?

Post by Mr Dildo »

Seems too good to be true..

Internet from your 3prong

Power to the people
The company plans to offer lower-cost Internet packages with generous 20 GB monthly bandwidth caps
What does it cost?

GTS is the most cost effective ISP you’ll find. And we offer month to month contracts for the lower end packages. Take a look.

Dial-up ISP (month to month)
R52 incl VAT

ADSL ISP service with 5 Gig Cap (month to month)
R228 incl VAT

ADSL ISP service with 10 Gig Cap (month to month)
R399 incl VAT

ADSL ISP service with 15 Gig Cap (12 month contract)
R570 incl VAT

ADSL ISP service with 20 Gig Cap (12 month contract)
R648 incl VAT
Feel free to disagree with me if you think I'll give a shit

excuse my ignorance, but doesn't this rely on Eskom being able to supply power to every home, something they seem to find difficult? And won't it be moving money from Telkom to Eskom, one crap company to another?

Not that it doesn't sound fantastic. Just asking ...
They float. They always flooaaatttt ....

Eskom is more reliable than Telkom. I know it isn't saying much...

Also bandwidth will be MUUUUUCH cheaper.

That is all.

no more telkom? NO MORE TELKOM? the tears of relief and joy are streaming down my face... this must be the happiest day of my life.

Eskom, however, are also unreliable (they couldn't even keep the power on during an international cricket match) but i agree that they are slightly more reliable than telkom. i hate telkom.
What would .Matt do?

5Mbps to each home

excuse me for laughing but that doesn't sound all that quick (especially if you take into account that it's CAPPED)!

i just downloaded a 698MB iso at an average rate of 8.76MB/s (that's a download rate of about 70Mbps) and I have no cap! :cowboy:
You're traveling through another dimension,
a dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind...

doesn't really matter unless you have UPS. No electricity ... the pc she doesn't work... the modem she doesn't work. even if you have a laptop you still only have 2 hours or so tops
