The Dark Knight: A Review
I saw the premier of the dark knight the other day and loved it. The story is a high explosion crime drama wreathed in batman's traditional dark elements. If you have heard anything of Heath Ledger's performance you will know it is brilliant. The first few times I saw him I was genuinly creeped out by him. He is that good. The movie starts off slowly but as the layers get added and the joker's perverse plan slowly begins to be revealed it sucks you in deeper and deeper. Some people are complaining that it is 2 and a half hours long but quite frankly I didn't feel it. This is one hell of a blockbuster.

do you think that the quality of heath ledger's performance has been exagerrated because he died?
i am sure it's good but people here are talking about oscars and things.
it's already made me not wanna go see it

No i don't think it has been exaggerated at all. Normally I couldn't give a toss that he had died but after this i am sad. He quite literally creeped me out in the first few scenes. He portrays psychotic and mad perfectly but the best bit is that at times he is even funny in a really dark way. It is without out a doubt the best villian performance i have seen and if they want to give him an oscar i say go for it.

Re: The Dark Knight: A Review
tbh I understand the complaint about 2.5 hours. I did feel it. The movie would have been punchier if it had ended slightly earlier. That said it picked up dramatically at the end, and the entire production, as a whole, was almost perfect. Ledger deserved every bit of the praise heaped upon him - he was brilliant. Bale overdid the hoarse voice thing a bit, but played his role convincingly, as he did in Batman Begins. The supporting cast was excellent, Gordon was as good as in the prior one; and Dent was believable - which is impressive for an unbelievable character. If there is one poor spot it was Rachel Dawes.

yeah, i kept expecting the movie to end... then realized that the story line hadn't tied up... then it would carry on.Paelleon wrote:tbh I understand the complaint about 2.5 hours. I did feel it. i agree with the hoarse voice thing... but the sound quality at Clearwater was dreadful as it was and my ears were blocked because of sinus...

Without giving too much away I liked her best at the very end of the movie. That was the best thing that could have happened to her. Or what happened in "Secretary". That was also a good thing that could have happened to her. Dirty trollop.Biskit wrote:Did you not like Maggie?
